Brown Friday: One of Drain Masters Busiest Days!

Brown Friday: One of Drain Masters Busiest Days!

It’s never too early to start preparing for the holiday season ahead. At Drain Masters, we receive a high volume of service requests specifically for kitchen sinks, garbage disposals and toilets in the days around Thanksgiving (November 22) and Black Friday (November 23) or “Brown Friday” as we sometimes call it.

Between family gatherings and hordes of customers at retail stores, Drain Masters is the popular choice among home and business owners because we offer 24/7 emergency service. In fact, Brown Friday is one of our busiest days of the year!

Avoid a visit from Drain Masters over the holidays by following these clog-preventing tips:

  • Never pour fats or cooking oil down drains. They may be liquid when you pour, but these oils can quickly solidify in pipes and lead to some nasty clogs. Instead, pour grease into the garbage and wipe the excess with a paper towel.

  • Avoid putting vegetable and meat skins down your garbage disposal. Invest in a cheap drain strainer for your kitchen sink and throw leftover food in the garbage. Be sure to start your disposal before adding food.

  • Never flush excess hair, cotton balls and swabs, wet wipes, and other non-toilet paper materials down a toilet. Keep a wastebasket nearby to encourage house guests to dispose of these materials properly.

  • Space out showers between house guests to avoid putting excess pressure on your water heater and to avoid backing up any slow drains.

If you are having any last-minute drain clogs or other plumbing problems threatening your holiday plans, call or schedule service online with Drain Masters. Our licensed and insured plumbers have been serving the St. Louis community for over 30 years.
